I was fortunate to enjoy some of my favorite pairings: music and great causes.
Eddie Vedder tends to swing through Chicago to catch his beloved Cubs each season. This visit was timed with his childhood idols turned close friends: Pete Townsend and Roger Daltry of The Who. Together they support Who Cares, to help draw awareness to teen cancer. Teen Cancer America’s mission is to improve the quality of life and outcomes for teens and young adults with cancer, support those affected by their cancer, and facilitate access to the best possible age appropriate care and support (according to their website).
I enjoyed the intimate benefit show with a former VIP sailing client turned friend, who is also a massive fan of The Who. She was especially impressed with Eddie's rendition of "Blue, Red and Grey"; the harmonies stood out and drew smiles, especially on "Corrina, Corrina".
