"Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties."~Erich Fromm

We all have our preconceived notions and ideas that shape our beliefs. This has been an amazing

2-month journey through my Chicago and LA book launch soirees! I will share some photos and then

3 new developments!

From our LA event with Hotel Erwin and HIGH Rooftop Lounge on Venice Beach.

I love how the landscape reflects the image in the banner.

Shelley, one of our Secrets to Shine Through the Noise readers made us the beautiful sign! Our Italian family at Nando Milano made us a special cake for the Chicago and LA launch soirees (yes I was able to fly with the cheesecake, and our film friend even requested that I start a Twitter account for the cheesecake during its journey. So we did.)

We were also thrilled with the artistic cake that perfectly matched my book cover from Cake and Art, West Hollywood.

Chef Gloria helped guests #GoGold for Teens with me during our September launch, top photo by Akasha; extra grazie to Chef Alessio Vullo for helping with our cakes. I even had a chance to put my producer hat on and pitch to casting agents while in LA...and auditions have been going well. We hope to see Chef Alessio on a Food Network show soon!

Bestie Ann flew in from Minneapolis to share the joy of my first book launch and dinner in Chicago. There's a set photo of us in #ShineThroughtheNoise from my first film, "Influence".

Yes this means that the Davanti thriller series is being edited with a few scintillating updates during #NaNoWriMo, and the screenplay is taking shape as well! In #ShineThroughTheNoise we learned about the importance of negotiating and having options. I'm ready for some healthy bidding on my travel thriller series covering exotic rivieras...

News & Pretty Views:

I just found out that I won 6 Marcom awards for web and branding work this year! I'm very proud of the teams and of continuing in the upward direction.

The CEO of Motivational Press invited me to co-author a book with him with a spotlight on branding strategy. It is called Lighting Growth: Success Strategies for Today's Leaders.  I will keep you posted on a release date and success summits that will follow!

In that same vein, we'll remind ourselves that "someday is today"! It's a new world era whether you are a Cubs fan in Chicago or not. It's there something that you've been putting off?

Remember: Wheveryou are on your journey...believe it's worth the trip.

Here's to bright horizons and believing that our hard work will pay off.

3) Please check out the new campaigns from our charity and community partner: Teen Cancer AmericaI presented Simon and Geraldine of Teen Cancer America with a check from donations at our Chicago #ShineThroughtheNoise dinner launch event (Nando Milano generously donated time, talent  and funds). TCA has added an inspiring auction sections to their website. I'm working to help curate a wonderful Chicago experience for auction, so stayed tuned!

Thank you for following my journey!

Cheers & fair winds,

Akasha Lin
